Feeling like Matheson

Is there a universal mandate that states that I should be stood up and blown off as much as possible? Did I not get the memo that people are no longer going to call me back when they say they're going to? Is being my friend that much of a burden? Am I too much to bear for my friends and loved ones to hang out with once in awhile? Can I at least get a heads up? Something? Anybody?
